Participants graduate from Boost Your Business

Eight local businesses participated in Gladstone Engineering Alliance’s Boost Your Business Program, a METS Regional Accelerator program funded by the Queensland Government.

Pronto Autoglass’s Director Robert Mitchell, who participated in the fully-funded program said, it has been a fantastic opportunity for him to “work on his business”.

“As an owner-operator it can be difficult to actually work on your business as you are so busy working in it,” he said.

“Through Boost Your Business I’ve enjoyed the opportunity to step back and take a guided all-encompassing review of my business.”

Mr Mitchell said he would recommend the program to other local businesses.

“The workshops have all been put together and delivered well, and I have made great connections with fellow participants,” he said.

“I would do the program again in the future if I could.”

Minister for Regional Development and Manufacturing and Member for Gladstone Glenn Butcher said the Boost Your Business Program is a great platform for businesses to secure new work.

“Over the past 12 weeks, local SMEs have been learning from each other how they solve problems in the METS sector and develop new ways to get innovative ideas to market,” Mr Butcher said.

Eight local businesses have taken part in a series of business strategy workshops, including risk analysis and management, strategic growth and capacity planning, and human resources management.

The Boost Your Business program concluded with a Graduation Ceremony last week.

GEA General Manager Chatale Lane said her team was proud to be able to work with METS Ignited and the Queensland Government to bring Boost Your Business to Central Queensland.

“This program has provided local businesses with a fantastic opportunity to get expert knowledge and advice on developing strategies to assist in accelerating the commercialisation of their innovative products and services,” she said.

“Feedback from participants has been extremely positive, and we look forwarded to bringing similar opportunities to small-to-medium enterprises in our region in the future.”
