Queensland Resources Council launch Local Content Report at Expo.
The Queensland Resources Council (QRC) will launch the 2018 Local Content Report at the GEA Gladstone Supply Chain Expo, presented by APLNG on April 10, 2019.
The Local Content Report provides government with a summary of industry’s progress in implementing the Code of Practice for Local Content including best practice case studies, expenditure data – local, interstate and abroad, the sector’s economic contribution, how the full, fair and reasonable principle is being implemented, and suggestions for improving the Code framework.
Much has been achieved through this voluntary approach to local content. In conjunction with the strong commercial and social licence to operate drivers that exist to buy local, the Code provides a practical set of tools for resource companies to achieve the ‘full, fair and reasonable’ principle.
Featuring Gladstone’s resource industry supply chain SME’s, the GEA and QRC invite industry leaders including their operations, maintenance and procurement teams to hear directly from QRC Chief Executive Ian Macfarlane (pictured) on how the resource industry can work with the regions supply chain.
