The GEA exists to strengthen Gladstone business and industry, and enable continued sustainable economic growth in the Gladstone Region.

Mission Statement
To represent, develop and promote the capacity, capabilities, competitiveness, and the interests of industry in the Gladstone Region.

Primary Stakeholders
· Current, financial GEA members
· Major industry in the Gladstone Region, both current and proposed.

The GEA is a not-for-profit, Incorporated Association, which has been operational since 2003. The network was formed initially as a response to the growing need in the Central Queensland Region for the minerals / chemical processing supply chain to strengthen capability and become globally competitive.  Since then the GEA has expanded its focus to include current and future industry sectors, including:

· Coal
· LNG
· Nickel
· Steel

From its inception the GEA has maintained a stable membership.   The GEA generates income from membership, sponsorship, and through hosting networking, skill development, industry related events, and on a project by project basis attracts government funding.

Predominately, GEA members provide construction and maintenance services to major industrial plants in Central Queensland and the coal mines to the west. These industries are owned by major global players.
